Review of the Wells Fargo Cash Back College Card (2017)
But, recently Wells Fargo has been trying their best to get customers back with nice checking account bonuses. has it been working? Possibly, but that s not the point of this article. If you currently own a Wells Fargo account you are eligible to apply for this card.
Wells Fargo Cash Back College Card, what are the card s benefits?:
- 3% cash rewards on gas, grocery, drugstore for first 6 months, 1% cash rewards on virtually all other net purchases.
- 0.00% introductory APR for 6 months (on purchases).
- 0 annual fee
- General Visa credit card benefits: Click me
According to NerdWallet. Wells Fargo allows for co-signers on their credit card applications, so if you have no credit history, this might be a be a starter student credit card for you to consider.
Something to note: your APR will be 11.90% to 21.90%, based on your creditworthiness. (Aka it ll most likely be 21.90% if this is your first credit card, so make wise decisions when purchasing items.)
Personal Thoughts. This is an okay credit card to start with, and it actually has an upper hand over the other starter credit card, such as the Discover it Student. in the sense that it s a Visa. This card will be accepted pretty much everywhere credit cards are accepted, and it also comes with cashback, so that s a plus. But, I would still suggest obtaining the Discover It Student over this card, 2% cashback (10% on rotating categories) for your first year generally beats 3% cashback for your first 6 months on gas, grocery, and drugstore purchases. Other benefits, such as price matching, unfortunately can not be found on this card unlike the Discover It Student .
Should you get the Wells Fargo Cash Back College Card. Only if you really need a Visa credit card. Yes I sound biased, but if you weigh the pros and cons of each card the Discover It Student pretty much beats out this card in every regard (plus they also allow for co-signers).
