El merchandising

El merchandising es una herramienta de la mezcla promocional conformada por técnicas, características o actividades que se dan en un establecimiento o punto de venta, y que tienen como objetivo estimular la afluencia de público o aumentar las ventas en dicho establecimiento o punto de venta.

Hay merchandising, por ejemplo, al exhibir los productos de tal manera que sean más atractivos y llamativos para el consumidor, o al obsequiar a los clientes artículos publicitarios tales como lapiceros, llaveros, cartucheras, etc. que lleven el logo o la marca de la empresa.

Veamos algunos de los elementos del merchandising:

Exhibición de productos

Una exhibición de los productos dentro del establecimiento que implique ubicarlos de tal manera que sean lo más atractivos y llamativos posible para el consumidor es una de las principales formas de hacer merchandising.

Una buena exhibición de productos también podría implicar:

  • ubicarlos estratégicamente, por ejemplo, teniendo en cuenta las compras por impulsos, poner productos de alta rotación cerca de la caja (tal como sucede, por ejemplo, con las gomas de mascar en las cajas de los supermercados).
  • procurar que la cantidad de productos exhibidos sea la adecuada.
  • procurar que el mobiliario no contenga, sino que exhiba los productos.
  • destacar o darle una mayor visibilidad a los mejores productos o a los más vendidos, por ejemplo, colocarlos a la altura de los ojos en los estantes.

Otra forma forma de hacer merchandising consiste en realizar una buena decoración del local del negocio. la cual podría consistir en el buen uso de macetas, cuadros, lámparas, posters, afiches, carteles, adornos pequeños, u objetivos comunes que vayan de acuerdo con la idea o estilo del negocio.

Disposición de los espacios

Otra forma de hacer merchandising consiste en procurar una buena disposición de los espacios dentro del establecimiento, que tenga como objetivo lograr el libre tránsito y buscar la comodidad de los consumidores.

Distribución del mobiliario

Así como buscar una buena disposición de los espacios dentro del establecimiento o local del negocio, procurar una buena distribución o ubicación del mobiliario también es otra forma de hacer merchandising.

Iluminación del local

Otra forma de hacer merchandising consiste en contar con una buena iluminación del local del negocio. la cual podría tener como objetivo estimular al consumidor a que ingrese al local, procurar que se sienta relajado y permanezca en él, servir como elementos decorativo, destacar los principales productos, etc.

Combinación de colores

Una buena combinación de los colores del negocio en las paredes, en el mobiliario y en los uniformes de los trabajadores, que estimule los sentidos de los consumidores, los incite por ingresar al establecimiento y por comprar los productos, también es otra forma de hacer merchandising.

Degustaciones, demostraciones y exhibiciones

El uso de puestos de degustación así como las demostraciones o exhibiciones del uso o funcionamiento de productos para impulsar las ventas dentro del establecimiento o punto de venta, también es otra de practicar el merchandising.

Artículos publicitarios

Otra forma común de hacer merchandising consiste en obsequiar a los clientes artículos publicitarios tales como lapiceros, llaveros, cartucheras, destapadores, gorros y camisetas que lleven consigo el logo o la marca de la empresa.

Fachada de negocio

Finalmente, otra forma de practicar el merchandising consiste en contar con una fachada del negocio atractiva. lo cual podría significar contar con una fachada bien decorada, con un escaparate atractivo, permanentemente limpia, y con una entrada que facilite y estimule el ingreso.
