The diversity of the student body is fun to work with. People of all ages, from all backgrounds, are working to make their lives better together. The people in my department share my values, and although we have many different work styles, we value what each individual has to offer.

The trend in education is to become more corporate in how our systems work, and this place is no exception. Some of the management cares about the daily work and wants to support it, but a lot of management just looks at numbers and success rates , which seems to be leading towards fewer and fewer requirements that we can expect from our students. The focus has been pushed towards getting students to graduate faster and with less fluff courses, but there s a lot of people in the community who want to take the non-essential courses. While I do value the diversity of our students and the wide experiences and styles of our staff and faculty, this can lead to confrontations.

Advice to Management

Pay people what they are worth. Stop leaning so heavily on adjuncts and staff more full time professors. We lose good people to places that pay better or that can offer job security. When you tell the faculty union numbers that are off by 7 million, and suddenly discover your mistake when negotiations are closed, we know you are shady. When you can spend millions on a simple logo design, have multiple million dollar building projects lined up, but can t give a cost of living raise, much less any other kind of raise, we know you don t place any value in your employees. Until you fix these issues, you will continue to lose the best people you have working for you.

Institution has grown rather quickly and is addressing adding technology, space, etc. to accommodate growth and improve student experience.
As an employee was exposed to many projects and tasks that kept me creative and in tune with changes in education delivery.
Met many employees who were very student focused and caring.

Rapid growth brings challenges in technology, space, etc. but college is addressing.
Decision making is often centered in one or two leadership roles which can bottleneck needed change or responsiveness to stakeholders.
Many of the employees are there to care for students, but there are some who are more concerned about adhering to the process than the student experience or the struggles a student may be experiencing to stay in education.

The labels only go vertically, which is false advertising because the picture on the Avery package shows a shipping label going horizontally on a package. When I go into my page layout to flip it to make it horizontal, it doesn’t work at all. This was a complete waste of money.

I use the 5126 labels to print shipping labels on a Brother HL-L234ODW laser printer. I only print one label at a time, so only half of the sheet is printed with each print job, and it may be a day or two before the other side is used. I re-insert the half-used page, turning it around for the next print job, but whenever I try to print on the other half the page ends up being smeared upon output. This is frustrating as I am basically trashing half of the labels simply because I don’t print a full page with each job. Any ideas how this can be fixed?

Merchant response: We would recommend double-checking that the paper or media type settings in your printer options are set to print on labels or photo paper. The default setting, even on a compatible printer, may be feeding the sheet through too quickly for the toner to fully set in.

But also please call our consumer care center at (800) GO AVERY so that they can make sure that your pack was not defective. We should be able to replace this pack for you if the sheets were manufactured incorrectly.

The glue on these does not stock to anything. I own a small printing company and thought it would be great to print out custom labels for all shipments. But they literally fall off the shipping cartons and the proofing envelopes we UPS out. Not just once all the time. I was just at a clients and they had 10 boxes shipped to them and all the labels were peeled halfway off.

When printed using a HP M277dw color laser the colors are smeared down the entire RH side of the page as if something dragged and smeared the inks before they could dry (except that it is a laser printer). Fearing inks were left in the printer I loaded a plain sheet and printed- it printed fine. I also agree with other comments regarding ink transfer once printed- the inks aren’t setting properly.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    Mail Services/Protocols

    Exchange ActiveSync

    POP POP Retrieval

    Post Office Protocol. This is a mail protocol that enables emails to be retrieved from a remote mailbox. That is, it allows you to collect emails from an hosted account that you have hosted on a server to your own email software, such as Outlook, Eudora etc.

    The POP Retrieval Service will download mail via POP from a remote POP server and deliver to a local mailbox. Users are able to configure their own settings from Webmail. This means you can retrieve your emails from different mail accounts and view it on their local mailbox without having to log in to each separate account.

    IMAP

    IMAP4 is a mail protocol that allows users to be disconnected from the main messaging system and still be able to process mail. Users can store messages on a local machine or on a server.

    IMAP has distinct advantages over POP because it allows you manage multiple folders on the server. Mail can be accessed from different machines, as the mail is hosted on the server (unlike POP which deletes mail from the server after being accessed) and allows the user to just download message headers and envelope information, until the user selects the email to download. This is useful when operating over slow speed dial-up connections.

    IMAP4 can break up and download specific parts of a multi-part email message (MIME). This means that instead of having to wait for an email with attachments to download, you can select only the text portion to download, and leave the attachments on the server.

    IMAP4 allows you to have server hosted folders and subfolders.

    CalDAV CardDAV

    CalDAV allows leading email clients and mobile devices (including the Apple iPhone), to access MailEnable mailbox calendars. CalDAV is ideal for mobile users who wish to access and update their calendar in real time.

    CardDAV allows mobile devices to remotely access and manage contacts stored on the MailEnable server. Changes made to the contacts stored on the mobile device are automatically sent to the server; and changes made on the server are received and updated on the mobile device. CardDAV is ideal for mobile users who wish to access and update their contacts in real time via their mobile device.

    Mobile Webmail

    An all-new Mobile Webmail was introduced in Version 7, a client designed exclusively for smartphones and tablets that is light-weight and supports swipe scrolling.

    The mobile client also allows you to automatically login, so you can access your inbox and contacts quickly. You can also tile the screens so they are readily available on your mobile device.

    Version 8 includes an updated version of the Mobile Webmail client which includes support for Tasks and Calendaring.

    Web Administration

    Web Administration provides an interface to allow you to manage various services remotely via a web browser. Web Administration allows you to delegate management of Postoffices to Postoffice administrators. This effectively reduces your administration load, especially if you are hosting multiple postoffices (for example, one per customer or company), each company can manage their own configuration. You can also restrict the number of mailboxes, lists created in each postoffice via the Web Administration interface.

    Enhanced Anti-Spam

    Guard your inbox from unwanted junk mail using anti-spam features including SPF, Bayesian Filtering and URL Blacklist Content Filtering, which prevents spammers ‘forging’ email addresses to send spam. Other anti-spam features include; DNS blacklisting, global filtering, PTR record checking and much more.

    Cloud Storage (WebDAV)

    It is now possible to use MailEnable as a cloud storage provider. Mailbox owners are able to access their “My Files” folder as a network drive over the WebDAV protocol. Mailbox owners can store photos and documents from their computer or phone (using products like NetDrive and other WebDAV clients). For example, a person can take a photo with their iPhone and immediately save it to MyFiles.
